The Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce (GPCOC) is developing an economic development strategy that will have impact in Providence and throughout Rhode Island. This initiative, termed Empowering Rhode Island, will help catalyze action from community and business leaders and generate opportunities to further prosperity throughout the state. AngelouEconomics (AE), a nationally recognized economic development consulting firm based in Austin, Texas, has been selected to guide this important endeavor.

It is the mission of AE to create a plan with actionable steps for the Greater Providence Chamber to pursue. However, it will be the hard work and determination of the community to make this plan a reality. For the next five months, AE will be working closely with the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce to develop a plan that will result in the creation of business investment strategy to spur new activity in key business sectors. Now is the time to act. Now is the time for the citizens and business leaders in Rhode Island to be empowered and to chart a progressive path for economic growth.
