You'd never know the World Congress on Information Technology is happening in Austin from the tote bags being handed out to delegates.

On one side is the WCIT logo, but stamped on the other side of the canvas bags is this message:

"Lubbock Economic Development Alliance

Home of Texas Tech University"

Just to drive that message home, the bags are black and red, Texas Tech colors.

Even though Austin is hosting the event, Lubbock got the plug because it paid for the printing, a WCIT official explained to several curious delegates Monday.

No word on whether WCIT T-shirts bear a College Station logo.
