ABOUT THE FORECAST
The annual Economic & Technology Forecast event is the largest business event in Austin, Texas, attended by approximately 1,000 people each year. The audience includes public officials, educators, media, economic analysts, and business executives from Central Texas’ technology, legal, real estate, and services industries.

Angelos Angelou has authored the highly regarded Forecast event since 1984.  At the event, Angelos will provide an overview of the Austin economy in 2005, and his projections for 2006 and 2007.  Angelos’ forecast will include job growth, population, retail sales, taxes, entrepreneurship and venture capital, technology growth, real estate absorption, emerging technologies, and Austin’s economic development “call to action.”

Angelos Angelou
Angelos Angelou is the Founder and CEO of AngelouEconomics, a renowned Economic Development and Site Selection Consultancy based in Austin, Texas.   In its ten-year history, AngelouEconomics has become the largest independent economic development consulting firms in the US.  The firm’s areas of expertise includes economic development strategic planning, feasibility studies for technology parks, entrepreneurial strategies and technology assessments, economic impact studies, marketing, and site selection for high impact companies.

Bob Merritt
Mr. Merritt is a 25-year veteran of semiconductor and communications markets, and his background is uniquely suited to the current convergence of communications and data applications. His hands-on experience in central office equipment and remote data processing installations is combined with senior marketing and operations positions in major semiconductor companies such as Siemens and Hyundai. Since joining Semico Research, Mr. Merritt has focused on technology and product trends associated with PC architectures, products supporting the digital home environment, and broadband communications.

Published reports include the market analysis and growth forecasts for ATM components, xDSL modems, Set-Top Boxes and Residential Gateways, and Network Processors. Research in memory-related topics includes quarterly reports on trends in PC logic chipsets and graphics accelerators, embedded memory, and advanced memory technologies. Mr. Merritt has also provided custom research and critical product guidance to several established semiconductor and PC companies on topics such as cellular phones, analog and RF manufacturing processes, PC architectural trends, and advanced memory technologies memory.
