Comprehensive Plan

The Taylor Comprehensive Plan will identify the physical aspects of city planning: land use, transportation, economic development and utility infrastructure, as well as recommend long-term guidance for policy and implementation.  This provides the framework for coordinating shorter-term decisions regarding development review and approval, budgeting and fiscal management, and capital improvements planning.  The adopted Plan sets the stage for continuous strategic planning efforts to ensure that goals, objectives, actions and policies are identified providing the short-term and long-term perspective needed to appreciate how actions in one area can have implications in other areas.

A comprehensive plan contains many components and serves numerous functions such as providing information, identifying existing conditions and characteristics, and establishing local governmental policies and strategies.  Taylor’s Comprehensive Plan will address many factors that make up the fabric of the community.  It will include Vision, Goals and Objectives, Population Projections, Land Use, Housing, Transportation, Parks and Recreation (in cooperation with Carter Burgess, Inc), Economic Development (in cooperation with the Taylor EDC and AngelouEconomics), Health and Human Services (in cooperation with Williamson County’s Health Department), Implementation Strategies, and Conclusions.
