Tullahoma is at the center of Aerospace Technology – it is the home to Arnold Engineering Development Center
(AEDC), which houses the world’s largest aerodynamic and propulsion altitude test facility complex. Tullahoma leads the way as a center for Aerospace Research, as home to the University of Tennessee Space Institute.
While Aerospace is at the “heart” of business in Tullahoma, the City touts other industry, and companies playing
a vital role in today’s economy; and, these businesses represent the base for future development -- these include: Apparel & Textiles, Publishing & Printing, Health Services, and Auto/Transportation.
The Tullahoma Industrial Development Board
is excited about the area’s future; and, is working to develop a business climate – including the recruitment of new businesses – which will sustain and grow the area’s economy. So, what can
the City and County do to be More Attractive for Business…? The Tullahoma Industrial Development Board (TIDB) has taken the initiative to invest in an area Economic Development Project. AngelouEconomics (AE), an Austin, Texas-based firm, has been selected to work with TIDB and area leaders during a four-month planning and analysis process, starting in January 2005.
The result of this work will be a blueprint
and strategic plan, targeting high growth industries and those businesses which will add to the current blend of industry, while maintaining the character of the community. The effort and work will be
primarily focused on best-use strategies for the Coffee County Joint Industrial Park and the Tullahoma Regional Airport. Based on the community profile of the city and county, and with its research and
strategic analysis, AE will provide guidance, ideas, customized recommendations and targets to help Tullahoma reach its goals.
We want your support and ideas. AE will be touring the area, assessing the geography of the area;
