Interview with:  Anna Johnson
                         Member: TIDB Advisory Committee
                         Owner: Success Seminars

AE: Anna, what’s your overall “take” on the process we’re undergoing for the development of this Economic Development Strategy…?

Anna:  Well, I want to give my response as a business owner, and as someone who has been given an opportunity with a leadership role in this process, too.  Our community – all of us in leadership roles – has been somewhat complacent over the last few years in working to address the community’s needs.  So, I think this process has helped put us on a “track” in addressing those needs, and beginning work on solutions.

AE:  Then do you think Tullahoma can accomplish what it needs to in working to get on that so-called “track”, and stay on it…?

Anna: Absolutely.  I think it’s about being Proactive vs. Reactive.  And we must do that as a community in working to help our overall sustainability.  Let me just say that I think we’re late…but, we’re not too late.  We just need to join together and move forward.

AE:  Since you’re an insider in this process, do you think the types of recommendations we’ll be making will be difficult for Tullahoma citizens to get their arms around…?

Anna:  I think some of the areas we need to address may be surprising; and that we need to make some changes in some key areas and that may seem difficult for folks; but, this is really about growth – I think if we look at it in that regard, we’re going to be fine.

AE:  Any last comments you’d like to share…?

Anna:  Just that I’m pleased to be a part of this process because ultimately I see this as being part of the solution, and that feels good.  This is a very exciting time for Tullahoma.  And I’m ready!
