Every year, more and more businesses and individuals discover the advantages of calling Manchester, New Hampshire, home.

With its great history of the textile mills along the Merrimack River, today… commerce in Manchester comes in all forms.  In fact, the city has made a true success of transforming the historic Millyard along the river to embrace a unique blend of new and high-growth businesses , and an energetic lifestyle that is not seen elsewhere in the region.

No other area in New Hampshire offers such a wealth of talent and proximity to key business resources.  Manchester is working hard to make it easy for business to thrive, and for people to live!

The City of Manchester continues to challenge itself to create the best environment for growth and prosperity.  The City wants to harness its many resources and assets and build on those for its self-sustaining future.  The leaders of Manchester recognize that “The Queen City” is a part of a larger, global economy – they are on a mission to discover their “place” in that global economy, crafting a strategy which best positions the Manchester economy for continued growth.

In working to position itself for the future, the City of Manchester has hired AngelouEconomics for the creation of an Economic Development Global StrategyAngelouEconomics (AE) is an Austin, Texas-based economic development consulting firm.  AE is undertaking a five-month planning and analysis process, which began in early March.

The result of AE’s work will be a blueprint and strategic plan, with recommendations for positioning Manchester to attract those companies and industries best suited to the current blend of industry, while maintaining and enhancing the character of the community.  Based on the community profile of the City and area, and with its research and strategic analysis, AE will provide guidance, ideas, customized recommendations and strategies to help Manchester reach its goals.

We want your support and ideas.  AE will be touring the area, studying the geography and land use of the area, and by meeting with area leaders, assessing the attitudes of the area.  We hope to meet you.  If we don’t have that direct opportunity, however, please pass your thoughts along…
