In a proactive effort to accelerate North Dakota’s economic growth rate, Governor John Hoeven proposed the creation of a new Department of Commerce (DOC) uniting formerly disconnected efforts tasked with economic growth initiatives. The DOC is charged with designing, coordinating and implementing a productive economic growth effort.
In 2002, AE was hired to assist the DOC in developing a strategic plan for the North Dakota Economic Development Foundation. The plan provides direction to the Foundation and sets the tone for statewide economic development efforts. The final plan resulted in a new vision, mission, and goals for the State, along with a framework outlining the specific actions needed to achieve the plan’s objectives.
