In April 2005, AngelouEconomics was hired by the San Joaquin Partnership to develop a countywide Economic Development Plan. In the Heart of Northern California, with wine country all around and an abundance of technology, San Joaquin County offers tremendous resources for a variety of businesses looking to grow and expand. San Joaquin County, which includes the City of Stockton, is home to nearly 570,000 people and major companies such as General Mills, Dana Corporation, Mondavi Woodbridge Winery, and Yellow Freight. While logistics and manufacturing remain important to the area, the San Joaquin Partnership wants to develop a long-term plan that will diversify the job base by attracting new companies in knowledge-based sectors. AngelouEconomics’ plan will offer improvement strategies for marketing, job development, education, infrastructure, and business climate that will lead the County towards its long-term goals.
